Overview: Casual hours from May 2024 until the end of December 2025 Based at the Melbourne CBD Campus, 3 days per week (and 2 days work from home) Salary Level HEW 6 11% Superannuation Position Overview Assistant Learning Designers concentrate on the technical execution of course development within Canvas, translating design concepts into practical course elements, and collaborating closely with Learning Designers to bring instructional goals to fruition, contributing their expertise to create functional online courses. Their sole function is to build courses. This will require skills in HTML, CSS, Adobe Creative Cloud and experience working in learning management systems (JavaScript and Canvas is desirable) Key Accountabilities Course Development Execution: Proficiently utilise technical skills in HTML and CSS (JavaScript also advantageous) to build and maintain online courses in accordance with the provided storyboards and templates, ensuring they are functional, accessible, and visually appealing. Technical Expertise and Innovation: Leverage knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and educational technology tools to enhance the visual and interactive components of online courses, creating engaging learning experiences as instructed by the Senior Learning Designers. Collaborative Partnership: Work closely with Senior Learning Designers and Learning Designers to understand instructional goals and effectively implement their design concepts into online courses within required timelines. Learning Management System Proficiency: Expertise in Canvas to troubleshoot technical issues and provide support to instructors as needed to ensure a seamless online learning experience. The key skills needed to be successful: Excellent communication skills: The candidate will need to be able to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders. Course development: Prior experience in course development and/or learning design is desirable/preferred. Technical skills: Proficiency in the use of HTML, CSS, Adobe Creative Cloud and experience working in learning management systems (JavaScript and Canvas is desirable). Attention to detail: The candidate will need to possess a sharp attention to detail to ensure high-quality learning materials and content development Time management skills: The candidate will need to be able to manage their own tasks and deliverables within the project whilst insuring quality. Flexibility: The candidate should be able to adapt to changing requirements and unexpected developments and be able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
