Reporting to the Manager Design and working in a collaborative and supportive environment within our global Digital Products division, you will: Influence product decisions with product owners, software developers, and other designers based on UX best practices, design principles and research Present work in a clear and compelling manner to stakeholders (be able to explain design recommendations by citing best practices, research data or business requirements) Utilise your depth of experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods Coordinate and run workshops of various types with multiple stakeholders Collaborate in an Agile environment across disciplines, product lines, roles, geographical and time zone boundaries Use your deep understanding of user-centred design principles and design trends to consistently advocate for the user and collaborate with business owners to develop features and flows that align with business and user needs Define problem statements and simplify complex problems About You Bachelor's degree in information technology, Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Computer Science, Visual Design, Communication Design or other related discipline, or equivalent experience or training 5 plus years of experience as a UX practitioner with a background in user experience design, interaction design or similar Strong skills in modern design and prototyping tools (Figma, Axure, Sketch, Zeplin, Adobe CC) Strong portfolio that shows insights into your UX process and demonstrates creative problem-solving skills and conceptual thinking Demonstrated experience working in a cross-functional, Agile team You exhibit alignment with the values of Care, Courage, and Curiosity at Rio Tinto Proactive attitude with an ability to work autonomously What we offer Be recognised for your contribution, your thinking and your hard work, and go home knowing you have helped the world progress.
