They are actively pursuing a discernible and calculated strategy aimed at amplifying growth, recruitment efforts, developmental endeavours, and augmenting financial gains throughout its operations. The Role: Having recently handled matters across property transactions, corporate/commercial and disputes, on various iconic Queensland construction and development projects, their loyal client base consists of ASX listed, private companies, HNWI, REIT’s, with a demand and preference to refer construction advisory and disputes matters within the team. Matters may include construction contracts (including head contracts, subcontracts, consultant’s agreements, supplier agreements and specialty agreements), preparing adjudication applications and responses, advising on licensing issues for builders, engineers and architects and all types of construction disputes. Your Opportunity: The role presents a unique opportunity for a Partner whose preference is a broad practice from front-end advisory, drafting and negotiations on contracts, procurement and project structures, through to contentious and non-contentious disputes, QBCC arbitrations and adjudications. Build on your practice through the entrenched client relationships the firm already holds, with the support of the firm in resourcing matters and developing team underneath. The Partnership model has recently been reviewed to reflect a preference of transparency, fair reward and individual partner earning capacity. Essentially sharing in profit on top of salary in a quarterly manner not annually. As an existing Partner you will be well networked in the Queensland building and construction law platform, including the QBCC, HIA and MBA arena’s. For a Special Counsel looking to step up, you will bring at least 8 years PQE experience primarily in construction law, have a willingness to absorb commercial mentorship and handle existing firm clients with care and pragmatic outcome-based thinking.
