Advertised Vacancy Number: IPS/TCH869552 This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2024 Bassendean Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a dynamic middle to upper primary teacher who implements strong behaviour management skills and an ability to support students at education risk. Knowledge and practices to support students with complex needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, anxiety, mental health, and trauma issues would be highly desirable. Strong pastoral care and wellbeing of students is a desired focus of the successful applicant. Successful applicants should ideally have strong Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) skills to support student learning each day. Applicants should have strong Literacy and Numeracy skills and the ability to differentiate learning for students with diverse and complex needs. Knowledge in implementing Positive Behaviour Support Western Australia (PBS), Oxfords Maths, Initial Lit, and Digital Technology and ICT programs would be advantageous. Successful applicants should be able to work collaboratively with others. They will be required to work as part of a team with colleagues. Applicants would be expected to plan and share knowledge and best practices to support student learning in a range of contexts. They will ideally build strong relationships with students, staff, parents, the wider community along with inter-agencies to support students in their success for learning. Bassendean PS first opened as West Guildford Primary School in October 1906. In 1922 the West Guildford area, along with the school, was renamed Bassendean. In 2018 with community and staff support we became an Independent Public School.
