Our client is one of Melbourne’s most established commercial law practices and is renowned in the industry. A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Legal Assistant to join the firm supporting a fantastic Special Counsel, Senior Associate and a Lawyer with a heavy litigation focus on prosecutions in both VCAT and different Court jurisdictions. With the client base of the practice group being predominantly Government and Local Councils, the responsibilities from an administrative perspective are varied and include: Staying abreast of matters on foot and ensuring the Partner is prepared ahead of deadlines; Preparation and amendments to complex litigation material and Briefs; Coordination of travel and accommodation requirements; Executive level diary and email management; Preparing and collating reports; Complex end-of-month billing. As the ideal candidate for this opportunity, you will hold solid experience of no less than 4 years working as Legal Assistant within a private practice law firm and strong litigation experience and court process knowledge. You will be highly organised, and enjoy staying steps ahead of your fee-earners, with strong administrative and technical skills, along with A1 communication skills. This role is specifically targeted at career Legal Assistants and is unsuited to law students or graduates.
