yourtown Social Enterprises is looking for 8 young people who are enthusiastic about starting a career in Landscaping / Horticulture / Conservation and Ecosystem Management. Here is your opportunity to learn more about the industry through hands on practical experience combined with wrap around training provided by yourtown Social Enterprises. You will be supported by a qualified Trainer and a Youth Worker to help you develop your skills and experience Program Information During the Traineeship you will gain: • 21 weeks of paid industry experience • Certificate I in Conservation and Ecosystem Management • Assistance transitioning into full time employment following your traineeship During this Traineeship you will learn a variety of hard landscaping, conservation and ecosystem management skills such as refurbishment of gardens, construction of retaining walls, rejuvenation of natural areas, grounds maintenance, monitoring of native flora and fauna and plant and weed identification. Who can apply? • Young People aged 15 to 24; • Must meet eligibility requirements for a Working with Children Check; • Must be able to complete a National Police Check; • Must NOT have completed a Certificate I in Conservation and Land Management/Conservation and Ecosystem Management; • Not currently a full time student at TAFE, University or School; • Be local to the area; • Permanent resident of Australia; • New Zealand citizen permanently residing in Qld; • Refugee and Humanitarian Visa Holder living in Qld; or • Temporary Visa Holder living in Qld with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency.
