The Department of Health are seeking a motivated Social Worker to join their team located at the Mersey Community Hospital. Working primarily in the Mersey Community Hospital Social Work team, the incumbent will, as part of a multidisciplinary team, contribute to the development, provision and evaluation of social work services for consumers of the department and their families and/or the community, in accordance with the Code of Ethics of the Australian Association of Social Workers and the Code of Conduct of the Department of Health. Rotation across all clinical caseloads in the area will be required including medical, rehabilitation, emergency department and Outpatients. Participation in weekend on-call rosters will be required. The Team: The MCH hospital Social Workers team practices collaboratively with the wider multidiscipline team to support inpatient discharge planning and provides support to: Rehabilitation Unit that aims to restore function and confidence to resume independent living. Vulnerable people experiencing an acute medical event and likely to require lifestyle adjustment. Outpatient services e.g., Cardiac Rehab and Oncology Details of Appointment Permanent, part time, day worker position working 15.2 hours per fortnight, commencing from June 2024 notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies. Salary: $71,441 - $107,878 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Public Health Sector Union Wages Agreement 2022 You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year other benefits if eligible. In addition, you will also have access to a Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum. Eligibility: Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria: Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers Eligible for membership OR a full member with Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a certificate of eligibility letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership to the AASW Current Working with Children Registration Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable: Current Driver's Licence Previous experience in an acute hospital setting would be an advantage The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.
