This legacy health and racquet club combines modern group fitness, functional training, 24-hour fitness facilities, and allied health services with traditional racquet sports and aquatic workouts. Join now and be a part of this transformative period in the club's history About the Role Club Coops Health Club is seeking a dynamic and creative Café Manager to lead and oversee their brand-new café and bar operations. In this role, you will design and deliver quality food and beverage services, mentor and supervise the food and beverage team, and ensure the café meets its financial targets. Your goal will be to create a memorable experience for Club Coops members while maintaining high standards of service and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Pre-opening and development of the café. Collaborate with the Director, consultants, and café team to develop a premium “relaxed luxury” food and beverage offering. Create operational systems, processes, and safety procedures. Design and implement onboarding and training programs for new staff. Lead recruitment and menu design. Manage day-to-day operations, including outstanding customer service, rostering, wage costs, and departmental budgeting. Marketing Collaborate with the marketing team for local engagement. Contribute to social media and promotional content. Develop strategic partnerships for recruitment and team development. Contribute to monthly electronic direct mails (EDMs) and internal communications. Staff Management Foster positive relationships with members, staff, and contractors. Review and manage staff timesheets and budgets weekly. Conduct regular training sessions and meetings. Oversee structured inductions, onboarding, and mentoring for new team members. Ensure staff wellness programs and sustainable workloads are in place. Reporting Monitor and analyse key performance indicators. Develop strategies to enhance staff retention and profitability. Handle rostering and administrative duties according to club procedures. Desired Qualities Passion for excellence in service, food, wine, and beverage. Strong leadership and decision-making skills. Time management and organizational skills. Qualifications/Certifications Tertiary qualifications in Hospitality or Business (desirable). Food Hygiene Training and/or Accreditation. Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification (RSA). Responsible Management of Licensed Venue Certification (RMLV). Barista Training. Current CPR & First Aid Certificate. Experience/Skills Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in the hospitality industry. Pre-opening venue experience is highly regarded. Strong leadership skills and ability to inspire and motivate a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Impeccable attention to detail and commitment to high standards. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Passion for health and wellness and creating memorable dining experiences.
