One of Queensland's largest government department is looking for a Senior Designer to support them in a long term assignment. Job Description: Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Designer (Civil) to join their dynamic multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will contribute to the successful planning and design of transport infrastructure projects by providing expert technical advice and support to various functional areas within the Region. Key Responsibilities: Offer expert technical advice and support for planning and detailed design processes of transport infrastructure projects, aligned with corridor planning, program development, delivery, and finalisation phases. Develop and sometimes supervise the creation of transport infrastructure design models during strategic planning, concept development, and implementation phases. Ensure adherence to planning and design principles in accordance with relevant policies, standards, guidelines, and legislation, along with maintaining quality management procedures. Assist in reviewing external design consultancy services. Provide expert support and advice to stakeholders, including problem resolution, to ensure successful completion of transport infrastructure projects. Foster effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to address needs, expectations, and issues affecting project delivery. Specific Responsibilities: Develop road designs using 12d and AutoCAD software. Adhere to and enforce quality management procedures. Offer support and advice on planning and design processes to ensure projects are fit for purpose, provide value for money, and follow best practices. Prepare and supervise the development of contract documentation, project specifications, drawings, and cost estimates. Maintain and apply relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements for road infrastructure project planning and design. Coach and mentor less experienced staff in both technical and business aspects of design and design management. Implement sound financial and business practices within the design team/unit. Lead project delivery, encourage teamwork, and foster a positive attitude towards achieving organizational objectives. Coordinate and manage project work activities, monitor timeframes, and prioritize tasks to meet project and regional requirements. Mandatory Requirements: A minimum three-year, Sydney Accord accredited engineering degree such as a Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) or an equivalent qualification. A current "C" class driver's license is preferable.
