Social Work Senior Clinician Grade 3 Permanent Full Time 80 hours per fortnight (monthly ADO) About the role The Social Work team provides patients with additional support to improve psychological and social functioning and we ensure each patients social, emotional and cultural needs are met. We minimise the negative impacts of illness and hospitalisation on patients. We are a dynamic and innovative group who is always willing to share knowledge and peer support. The Social Work team is made up of 30 plus Social Work clinicians, providing opportunities for career progression. Grampian's Health Ballarat Social Work Department is seeking a highly skilled Senior Social Worker to provide team leadership across Acute areas at The Base Hospital. This position requires advanced skills in complex psychosocial assessments, supervision, care planning and risk assessments with the aim to making a difference to patients, families and teams. We are looking for someone who is keen to lead a small and dynamic team that promotes best practice and great patient outcomes in all clinical areas. Key Responsibilities: Team leadership an Acute team area Providing a high level clinical Social Work Service Proving support and consultation to Social Work Manager, Deputy Manager and colleagues Providing support to students Commitment to quality improvement activities Skills and experience Eligibility for practising membership of Australian Association Social Workers Membership (must have a bachelor or qualifying master’s degree) Demonstrated ability to monitor, evaluate and modify own performance through reflective practice Ability to adapt, be flexible and learn quickly Work well under pressure Ability to plan and problem solve Demonstrated knowledge in Social Work theory and practice skills Some knowledge of working in acute/sub acute environments is desirable Leadership qualities Culture & Benefits At Grampians Health, we recognise our staff are our greatest asset.
