Market Analysis: Regularly analyze retail trends and customer demand by reviewing store sales and inventory reports. Use this information to adjust purchasing strategies and ensure we meet consumer needs effectively. Supplier Negotiations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Negotiate terms of purchase, supply, and promotions to secure advantageous agreements. Cost Management: Monitor and control inventory levels to align with sales strategies and operational budgets, optimizing our stock to maximize sales and reduce overheads. Sales and Marketing Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing and merchandising teams to coordinate promotions and sales strategies, ensuring that new products are effectively introduced and marketed to our clientele. Competitive Analysis: Maintain a thorough understanding of market conditions and competitor activities to anticipate market shifts and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly. Profitability Objectives: Implement innovative purchasing and operational strategies to achieve targeted profitability goals. Policy and Compliance: Ensure all purchasing and operational activities comply with company policies and national safety regulations. Qualification & Experience AQF Certificate III or AQF Certificate IV. 3 years of proven experience as a Retail Buyer or in a similar procurement role, preferably in this retail industry. Strong understanding of the Grocery supply chain and experience negotiating with suppliers. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions based on market research and financial analysis. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Knowledge of inventory management practices and systems.
