Work from home and latest technology major bank A major bank is seeking a Senior SQL Database Administrator to optimise a growing database and trouble shoot issues and problem solve and optimise performance. You will over come challenges and migrate data from SQL 2008 to 2019 and work with SQL 2022. You will provide technical guidance and be hands on and be very confident in their ability and problem solve on your own troubleshooting all possible causes yourself. Key to this role in understanding data flows and capturing information and where it goes. You must understand have have experience in this concept. The role requires someone who has an ingrained knowledge of SQL databases and has managed most problems that come up with optimising a databases performance. Formulating solutions in extracting data for reports is one of the many challenges and enhancing SQL stored procedures, using SSIS SSRS. The role is at its core a SQL DBA role but has elements where an understanding of SQL developing would be required KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead from the front troubleshooting complex SQL database issues. Manage day to day incidents, requests and reporting, managing prioritization and escalations, ensuring items are resolved within SLAs. Manage the database and application platforms, ensure robust proactive monitoring and alerting is in place and ongoing operational security, stability and performance is maintained. Ensure regular system, database and application upgrades to maintain compliance and security obligations. Review and enhance regular automation processes and procedures, work to remove manual processes from Operations and build automation capabilities. Development of high quality database solutions that are secure, efficient and resilient.
