As a Regulatory & Compliance Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our client not only meets but exceeds all regulatory and compliance standards within the dynamic energy sector. This position requires an individual with a keen eye for detail, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to navigate the complexities of the energy industry. Key Responsibilities: Regulatory Analysis and Interpretation: Monitor and analyse changes in energy regulations, providing comprehensive interpretations to internal stakeholders. Assess the potential impact of regulatory developments on company operations and formulate strategic responses. Compliance Program Development: Design, implement, and enhance comprehensive compliance programs, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory landscapes. Conduct regular risk assessments and propose proactive measures to address potential compliance issues. Documentation Management and Reporting: Maintain an organized and up-to-date repository of regulatory filings, permits, and compliance documentation. Generate regular reports for senior management, highlighting compliance status, potential risks, and recommended actions. Collaborative Engagement: Foster strong relationships with internal teams, external legal experts, and regulatory authorities. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to address compliance challenges and facilitate the necessary approvals. Audit Preparation and Management: Lead preparations for regulatory audits, ensuring the availability of accurate documentation and efficient processes. Coordinate internal and external resources to facilitate smooth and successful regulatory audits. Continuous Monitoring and Adaptation: Establish systems for ongoing monitoring of regulatory changes, ensuring timely updates to internal policies and procedures. Proactively recommend adjustments to business operations based on regulatory shifts and emerging industry trends. Advocacy and Representation: Represent the company in regulatory proceedings, hearings, and industry forums. Engage with relevant industry associations to stay informed on best practices and contribute to shaping regulatory frameworks. Compliance Metrics and KPIs: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on the effectiveness of compliance initiatives. Utilize metrics to drive continuous improvement in the company's regulatory and compliance posture. Policy Development and Implementation: Work collaboratively with legal and regulatory affairs teams to develop and implement company-wide policies that ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, or a related field. Proven experience in regulatory affairs and compliance within the Retail Energy sector. Strong understanding of energy industry regulations and market dynamics. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
