Mechanical & Electrical Construction Manager wanted for Major Projects (Tunnels, Roads, Rail) Must have exp delivering Major Projects ($280m-$340m) THE COMPANY Our client is a leader national in delivering major transport infrastructure projects across road, rail, tunnels and busways that sustain and enhance the environment in which we live. They have the unique capacity to provide long-term technical in-house operations and maintenance support to their clients and specialise in delivering Major Projects across the M&E space. They partner with some of the world’s largest blue-chip companies, government agencies, private enterprise, and public institutions and they are currently seeking a Construction Manager (M&E) in Victoria for one their 3 Projects in their Major Projects Pipeline (Projects ranging $280m-$340m) THE ROLE The Construction Manager (M&E) is responsible for the planning and delivery of all aspects of our construction activities to client requirements. Reporting to the M&E Project Director some of your responsibilities will include; Ensure construction activities on Projects to ensure that standards of safety, quality, cost, and schedules are met. Undertake construction administration and delegate responsibilities as required. Maintain seamless liaison between Engineering, Quality, and document control between all on and off site project activities Plan and stage construction works & Interface with other management and engineering functions. Ensure sufficient resources (personnel, plant and equipment) are provided on all projects. Monitor physical and financial progress of work. Participate in union negotiations with advice from the Human Resources Manager as appropriate. Liaise directly with clients to maintain high level customer service relationships. Coordinate and monitor construction resource requirements to determine any changes required in employee numbers to achieve present and future project objectives. Assist in the preparation of tenders as required. Accountable for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace and adherence to company policies and other applicable laws, regulations and standards for the workplace. Ensure that all necessary steps are taken to meet the Company’s Environmental licensed conditions and to minimize environmental risks. ABOUT YOU Must possess a recognised trade and or Engineering qualification relevant to the position and the activities and have at least 15 years experience in the overall management of construction on large projects Major Projects. Min 10 years experience managing electrical/mechanical construction activities on project sites within the transport sector. Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
