Senior Software Engineer - Hawthorn East — Auburn, Boroondara Area

About the team This role of Senior Software Engineer sits within the Technology Services and Commercial, reporting into the Software Engineering Manager, will look to lead the backend technical resources on a project or product team within the Merchandise platform. About the role: The primary objectives of this role will be as follows: Review technical solutions Coach and mentor team members Assist with upskilling team members to newer / full stack technologies Provide direction and leadership on all backend aspects of a software product or web application Lead the design and engineering standards in backend technologies including database used in a software product or application Work with DevOps, Release and Environment management teams to support release, build and deployment pipelines Contribute to the whole product lifecycle including the Continuous Delivery/DevOps Roadmap Contribute and influence design and engineering standards in full stack technologies used in a software product or web application Commercial Skills and Formal Qualifications: Bachelor of Software Engineering or similar (i.e. Computer Science or Information Technology) Azure Certifications (desirable) Merchandising experience is highly desirable At least a year's experience working in a senior developer / software engineer capacity, leading at least one other developer/s or software engineer/s, and managing all backend aspects of product / application lifecycle including database/s such as Oracle, Cosmos and/or SQL Server. Experience with Snowflake, Power BI or similar reporting tools will be highly looked upon Proven years of experience working in whole software engineering lifecycle (preferably in Java or .NET core framework) Demonstrated experience in contributing to the backend aspects of complex software products including implementation of new framework such as UTPLSQL Demonstrated technical leadership qualities and mentoring capability Excellent understanding of product development methodologies, both agile and waterfall Good understanding of full stack product architecture and infrastructure components Knowledge of product lifecycle and DevOps processes such as build, deploy and automated testing would be highly desirable Experience in large or complex organisations requiring stakeholder management would be highly desirable Take your next step into something bigger, apply now With us it's not about the discounts (although you do get those), it's about joining a team where your wellbeing and professional development is invested in and celebrating your contributions is the norm.
