You will be a part of the Mine Safety Technology (MST) team who provides technical support and emergency response to the coal mining industry with state-of-the-art mine gas monitoring systems. Your responsibilities include leading a team of professionals to develop, commission and support software solutions used in mine safety applications. The role involves liaising with internal and external stakeholders, to provide high level advice on the implementation of gas monitoring systems. Thus, the ability to work both independently and within teams is crucial to this role and will require a high-level of interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. You will be required to participate in an all-hours technical support and emergency response capability, which requires out of hours work on short notice and frequent travel. It is essential that you possess a degree/qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science or agreed equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution. The role requires participation in an after-hours remote support, frequent travel and working outside of standard hours at short notice. Experience in mining safety and/or the resources sector industries is desirable.
