Senior Azure Cloud Engineer — The Rocks, Sydney

This role is suited to an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer who has experience working within Cloud Operations teams within a large Enterprise. Working in the Cloud Engineering and Infrastructure Operations Teams within this large Enterprise organisation, you will work with a dedicated team of Systems Engineer’s, Infrastructure Support Analyst’s, Cloud Engineers and the Technical Lead with a focus on supporting the organisations cloud journey. You will be the interface for Azure Cloud Engineering & Support activities in the team, working closely with the Technology Operations Manager to drive results and new technology enhancements. You will work closely with Architects across the business, Cloud Engineers and other Infrastructure teams to determine business requirements and turn them into successful technology and Azure Cloud focused deliverables for a combination of project based work and BAU activities. We are seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer who is pro-active in nature, and has a passion for designing, developing and running Azure Cloud solutions in a Microsoft tech-stack environment. Day to day activities will include: Technical Cloud Engineering, Administration & Support for supporting Azure Cloud technology stacks & Security Operations. Ensure Azure cloud engineering standards in the team are at the highest level. Provide guidance and ideas regarding the Azure Cloud technical stack with how the organisation can improve its cloud capabilities. Managing technical risks and ensuring non-functional requirements are met. Working with existing Cloud Engineers & Infrastructure Engineer’s with focus on evolving on-premise infrastructure towards automation, cloud and DevOps engineering principles & techniques. Display versatility to drive innovation and challenge the status quo. Work closely with the company’s Technical Lead’s and business stakeholders on technical road maps, vision, requirements. Collaborate with the Infrastructure Services Manager on pragmatic balance between tech, BAU and project work. Skills & experience required in this role: Have proven experience working in Cloud Engineering & Administration within medium to large enterprises Experience with Automation and implementing CI/CD processes. Experience managing cloud solution design, security and implementation in Azure. Strong understanding of DevOps as a core philosophy for delivery and cloud initiatives. Proven experience with scripting Languages and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Python and PowerShell. Experience supporting and administering VMware and Active Directory. Experience supporting and administering SAN, NAS and Shared Storage systems. Minimum of 3 years supporting and administering Microsoft O365. Supporting and administering network topology, including but not limited to Cisco Meraki. Experience supporting and administering backup technologies, including but not limited to Veeam and Azure Backups. Strong Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and governance including networking, policy and security concepts and capabilities. Demonstrated ability to perform proof-of-concepts for validating new technologies or approaches. Have exceptional communication skills that can be used to effectively work with key stakeholders. Microsoft Azure cloud certifications.
