Cyber Security Engineer- On Site or Remote - June Start Open To Australian Citizens with NV1 Locations: Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart - On-site or Remote The Technology Services division aligns key technology functions to deliver end-to-end service modernisation and digitisation to this government department. The division is responsible for delivering core technology, business applications, cybersecurity and technology strategy that support internal business functions to deliver reliable services for their clients and stakeholders. The IT team develops and implements contemporary, client-centric techno ogy solutions, business processes and policies focused on service delivery and the achievement of outcomes The Technology Security team plays a pivotal role in the department's Cyber security daily operations, ensuring the creation and maintenance of a secure cyber environment. As the Cyber Security Engineer, you will deliver positive cybersecurity outcomes that strengthen the organisations' cyber security posture. You will be responsible for the design, building, implementation and operations of Cyber Security Operations including threat management and response, vulnerability management, identity and access management. You will work to understand the security requirements and identify how the cybersecurity technologies can be designed to enable secure and compliant solutions. Duties include: • Design, implement, and manage cyber security solutions outlined in the Strategic Technology Roadmap to progressively strengthen our cyber security posture. • Ensure governance and compliance through application of the PSPF, ISM, and Essential 8, through collaboration with ACSC, DTA, ANAO• Coordinate operations to monitor security for systems, vulnerability management, perimeter services and event logging. • Ensure the accuracy and implementation of safety and security policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs). • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards. • Monitor and respond to security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. • Technology Accountabilities include: Intrusion Detection / Intrusion Preventiono Security Incident Event Managemento Perimeter Services, Firewall, Web Security Applications Vulnerability Management Identify and Access Management Essential Requirements • Tertiary qualifications in Cyber Security, Information Technology or relevant industry certifications/experience (CISM, CISSP, CISA) • 4 years' experience in the field of cybersecurity • Experience securing a range of enterprise-grade technologies, including cloud solutions.
