Senior Project Engineer — Brisbane, Brisbane Region

Seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer, $160-170k Super Bonuses Vehicle Bonuses. Our client, a multi-award-winning civil contractor organisation, is seeking a Senior Project Engineer with expertise in structural dam or major concrete structures to join their team. This role presents an exciting opportunity in South -West Queensland, starting at the SMEC alliance office in Brisbane before transitioning to the site office in Crow's Nest, Toowoomba. In partnership with SMEC and the Toowoomba Regional Council, our client is leading the Cressbrook Dam Safety Improvement Project, a crucial initiative aimed at enhancing flood capacity and resilience in the region. The salary for this position ranges from $160k to $170k per annum, which includes a vehicle or allowance ($17k) and a $5000 fuel and toll card. Reduced-rate accommodation is available for DIDO workers, and the role can be undertaken either on a contractual or permanent basis. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will: Lead a safety-focused culture, ensuring compliance with HSEQ responsibilities in project plans. Acquire and apply knowledge of key management plans and procedures, such as PSP, EMP, PQP, CMP, and WRMP. Engage in developing and reviewing risk assessments, SWMS, and THRCs, with a focus on high-risk activities. Understand client specifications for timely progression of quality system requirements, including ITPs, Lot Closure, and NCRs. Develop a working understanding of Head Contract requirements, identifying contractual risks and opportunities. Candidate Requirements: Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent. Significant experience delivering structural dam projects. Advanced computer literacy (e.g., Microsoft Suite, Viewpoint, etc.). Working knowledge of Quality procedures, WHS, Environmental, and HR/IR procedures. Ability to produce Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and ITP’s for all trades. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Current C-Class Driver’s License.
