My client is looking to hire a control systems (automation) engineer, on an initial 6 month contract with a view for extension. This role will help support the development on fully automated systems, with a focus on reducing the amount of customisation needed for each project, resulting in significant efficiencies through the manufacturing process. With an increased focus on these key factors, my client is looking to hire an electrical & control systems (automation) engineers, on an initial 6 month contract. Reporting into the Systems Engineering Team Lead, you will be responsible for: The Role Reporting into the Systems Engineering Team Lead the responsibilities of the role includes: Completing electrical design & control systems programming activities for a range of projects, whether that be new design & development or integrating new technology across older systems. Utilising best-in class principles and problem-solving techniques across the design & manufacture of solutions, that will provide scalability across different industries with minimal need to provide further customisations across individual projects. Maintaining a speed-to-market focus, while ensuring compliance with electrical safety, functional safety (including EMC testing), and quality standards, in compliance with regulatory requirements and company polices. Liaise with a range of internal engineering and management staff across team/workshop/technical design review meetings, within an open & collaborative environment, as well as liaising with a range of external stakeholders. Provide mentorship to other less experienced engineering personnel across projects. Your Background In order to be successful in this role, you will have: Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics, electrical or electronic engineering or related field. Registered professional engineer accreditation (Or eligibility to apply). Proficiency in PLC Programming such as Codesys, TwinCAT or something similar Electrical component selection, electrical cabinet design, 3-phase power distribution, earth and grounding design, and EMC testing and compliance. Sizing, selection, setup and testing of PLC, servo motor and controls hardware. Complex industrial machinery design from concept idea to detailed design. Design for machine safety, risk assessment, safety function design, safety calculations, safety PLC programming and validation.
