THE OPPORTUNITY We are excited to present this opportunity for a Structural Engineer within our Storage Equipment Division (SED) and Integrated Systems Group (ISG) teams in Belrose. Ideally suited to a proactive self-starter this multifaceted opportunity will have you designing storage equipment solutions for premier client sites. SED specifies and delivers warehouse racking solutions such as ColbyRACK which has been manufactured in Australia for over 50 years. ISG concept, design, cost and sell tailored solutions comprising a combination of multiple types of racking, platforms, automated storage and buffering equipment, conveyors, sorting systems, software and real-time logistics equipment, both from our own product range and from external suppliers, to offer our customers modular, scalable and flexible order fulfillment systems. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES This is a hands-on design, 3D modelling, drafting and project-based role will encompass the following key responsibilities: Support our Storage Equipment Division and Structural Engineering teams during all phases of projects, including sales, structural design, detailed engineering and installation. Review and develop structural designs at system and component level with consideration to safe operation, the environment and product/system sustainability. Manage budgets and design schedules for assigned projects & report status to the Project Manager and Director Structural Engineering. Support product design and testing for internal product development. Assist sales team in developing and reviewing racking and structural design concepts. Liaise closely with our onsite manufacturing team to ensure on-time delivery of quality products. Work with purchasing team to ensure purchased products and services meet required specifications. Liaising with our other Engineering teams, Site Managers, Quality and Safety team, sub-contractors, client and Colby rack distributors to ensure that projects run smoothly. Support the Director Structural Engineering and Director Storage Equipment Division by attending concept and technical reviews as required. Ensure compliance with structural engineering processes and systems. Tasks and Qualifications: ABOUT YOU Successful candidates will possess the following: Minimum 3 years Structural Engineering experience Qualifications in Structural or Civil Engineering. Experience in the Design of Cold Form Steel Structures Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and the Building Code of Australia. Experience working in the material handling industry would be highly regarded. Capability in AutoCAD and Inventor. Expertise in or a strong willingness to learn Tekla Structures. Experience in building and/or architectural design coordination. An interest in and aptitude for software development to support structural engineering calculations would be highly regarded.
