The International School of Western Australia (ISWA) is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, dedicated to empowering students' unique development in an inclusive inquiry-focused environment, to thrive in the world. As a Music Teacher at ISWA, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the musical development of our students from Years 3 to 10, as well as contributing to our co-curricular music program, performances and events. Through a concept-based inquiry approach to teaching and learning, you will integrate music into the IB frameworks, fostering creativity, expression, and social-emotional growth. We are looking for a staff member who possesses: • A record of innovative practice • An ability to inspire mixed culture and ability classes, by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students • A strong desire and proven ability to work in teams in and out of the classroom • An outstanding record in building relationships and community with students, parents, and staff • Experience in delivering a concept-based curriculum through inquiry learning. • An intentional ability to balance academic and social-emotional development and wellbeing • An appreciation of diversity the ability to create a classroom environment where all students feel safe and included • Curiousity, open-mindedness, and willingness to change their own thinking and practice Experience working in international schools and/or delivering the International Baccalaureate’s Middle and Primary Years Programmes is desirable, but not essential.
