You should possess the professional knowledge, understandings, and experience to develop and implement an engaging and relevant secondary school Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) curriculum. Experience in teaching senior school HASS courses, particularly Psychology – both Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and General, is highly desirable. As an expert practitioner you should have commitment to excellence in teaching and engage in regular self-reflection. Another key attribute is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and differentiate educational opportunities that are purposeful and relevant, catering for different student learning needs. You should model highly effective teaching, learning and assessment principles such as explicit instruction, reciprocal teaching (formative assessment) and feed forward. The College has an imbedded culture of professional growth and development, supported by Instructional Coaching. The College has a strong Science, Technologies, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics (STEAM) focus, working in a collaborative partnership with local primary schools, industry and tertiary education. Coastal Lakes College located in Lakelands, a south-western suburb of Perth in the City of Mandurah, opened in 2019 and caters for students across Year 7 to 12. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy.
