Department Overview Provide high-quality technical and operational support to ensure the continued availability of mission-critical radio communications network infrastructure and subscriber technologies supplied by Motorola Solutions. Ensure that Operations Engineering team activities and practices contribute to compliance with contractual key performance indicators related to system availability, fulfilment of service requests, and resolution of incidents and problems. Overall technical operation, support, and maintenance of a critical communications network. Participate in a shared 24/7 on-call roster. Work within change control processes to perform planned maintenance activities. Produce high-quality customer-facing reports on the results of investigations into system problems. Work within a service management tool to accurately log and provide updates on requests, incidents, problems, and changes. Escalate issues where required to senior engineering staff internally or to support from third-party vendors. Produce and/or update technical and procedural documentation for supported systems. Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or other applicable management staff. Provides short and long-term in-depth analysis and investigation of problems. Provide technical representation from the Operations Engineering team to senior management and/or customers. Update Windows, Linux servers and other network devices as required. Manage and apply updated endpoint security definitions and configurations. Identify and implement areas for continuous improvement within the organisation. Undertake special projects and other duties as required by the organisation LI- onsite Basic Requirements Education & Qualifications Essential: Tertiary qualification in Electronics / Computer Systems Engineering / ICT or similar (extensive industry experience will be considered as an alternative). Licensed to drive in Tasmania. Desirable: ● CompTIA Linux, Security, Network ● Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) / Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA) ● ITIL Certification ● Additional qualifications or significant industry experience in: IT networking Virtualisation VoIP Linux Professional Experience Essential: ● Minimum 3 years in an IT systems administration, IT network administration, or telecommunications role. ● Experiencing interacting directly with end-users and internal and external stakeholders. ● Experience in IT network maintenance, troubleshooting and analysis. ● Experience with Linux, Windows, and VMWare. ● Experience with administration configuration, fault finding and maintenance of networks, routers, switches, servers, workstations and applications. ● Experience writing customer-facing documentation such as problem reports, post incident reports, and change requests.
