THE ROLE Prepare SCADA conceptual design and block diagrams in compliance with EPC requirements. Interact with tentative SCADA suppliers to refine the conceptual design and prepare the SCADA and Communications Request for Proposals. Coordinate the SCADA design and Communications design with the rest of the engineering disciplines to ensure consistency across the design. Coordinate the SCADA design with the external services the SCADA has to front, i.e. AEMO EMMS, Energy Forecasting systems, Energy Dispatch Systems, etc. Coordinate the SCADA supplier with the rest of OEMs (tracker, inverters, weather stations, substation, PQMs, etc) in order to include properly all systems within the SCADA. List the SCADA functionalities required for the project and the equations/inputs to be combined in each functionality. Prepare SCADA signal lists in coordination with SCADA supplier, AEMO, and the TNSP. Monitor and assist the SCADA supplier with the End to End SCADA test with AEMO and the TNSP. Assist in the preparation of the SCADA manual. Review the SCADA documentation. Collect SCADA red-marks to assist in the preparation of the AS-BUILT drawings/documents. Establishing a communications path between the site SCADA and remote offices, so OEMs and GLC can access the site SCADA remotely for commissioning and testing purposes. Identify project technical risks, identify solutions and communicate them to the management team. Provide support to the construction team, bridging the construction with the engineering and procurement of the equipment. Ensure the Design is delivered in a timely manner by the Design subcontractors and is compliant with all permits required for the project. Develop, implement, and continuously improve the designs and bases of design, incorporating the latest technologies and solutions. Review the calculations and reports generated internally and by 3rd parties, and have the criteria to assess the existence of any error or wrong assumptions. Perform periodical site visits to assess the progress of the construction, compliance with design, and identify any issue or rectification required. Assist with any design modifications required during the project construction. ABOUT YOU Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Electronics, with specialized training in IT and Control systems, or vice versa. Proven expertise in SCADA systems for Grid Connected Generators, with hands-on experience in SCADA software platforms such as Siemens WinCC, Wonderware, Ignition, or Ovation. Proficiency in Autocad for preparing conceptual designs and block diagrams, as well as PVSYST for analyzing solar power systems. Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting. Previous experience in construction sites or similar projects, demonstrating the ability to implement new ideas and systems effectively. Must possess valid Australian work rights and be based in Brisbane with the flexibility to work full-time. Valid driver's license and White Card certification. Experience with database management tools like SQL Server, and proficiency in network design and cybersecurity principles for SCADA systems. Demonstrated experience in communication network operation analysis and diagnosis using tools like Wireshark.
