Construction Procurement & Relationship Manager — Hope Island, Gold Coast North

Working at both an operational and strategic level, you are a seasoned and commercially minded professional, who is experienced in negotiation, sourcing, contract management and supplier relationship management. The key success factor will be your ability and drive to build and grow the procurement function and reporting evidence of cost and/or time savings Who we are looking for You are a person with previous experience in supplier relationship management within the construction industry and are confident in your high-level negotiation, strong presentation and excellent communication skills with an existing network of contacts. You have the ability to develop long term business relationships, are customer orientated, capable of competently liaising and collaborating with internal teams and suppliers in professional and pleasant manner, making the most of all your business relationships. With an analytical mindset, plus the ability and desire to drive cost savings and process improvements. Detail-oriented and organised, able to prioritise multiple tasks simultaneously, plus adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Role Ensuring that Gemlife remains innovative and commercial in our builds, this newly created role will bring GemLife's procurement activities into one function, with the thought that this will maximise the buying power and innovation when one person is in the driving seat. The role will include but not be limited to the following. Lead and further develop the procurement strategy in construction to ensure procurement meet the requirements for all developments. Identifying cost savings, process improvement, and quality improvement opportunities, and take action to implement them. Work with GemLife management team to develop and maintain budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Drive negotiations of pricing/payment terms with suppliers Facilitate and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers, engaging with key stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach. Be the Lead supplier negotiator and finalise supplier contract agreements, complete the contract development process and renegotiations with suppliers as required by the business to achieve the best possible contractual terms Ensure all contracts are reviewed by General Counsel prior to signing. Contribute to regular business planning and reporting activities. Collaborate in construction/operational activities as needed, attending appropriate construction conferences and fairs to establish new networks, always keeping the procurement function fresh.
