THE POSITION: Council is seeking an enthusiastic and suitably qualified graduate civil or environmental engineer to help deliver floodplain and stormwater management projects. Working within a tight-knit, high-performing team environment, the role will be responsible for delivering a variety of projects involving flood studies, floodplain risk management studies and plans, catchment management plans, stormwater drainage investigations and designs, water sensitive urban designs and creek rehabilitation. The role includes significant liaison with Council staff, consultants and the community, as well as the interpretation and implementation of legislation, policies and technical guidelines related to stormwater, floodplain and natural resource management. ESSENTIAL: The position requires the following: Bachelor degree in civil or environmental engineering Knowledge of catchment management including floodplain, stormwater and natural resource management Knowledge of local government and relevant policies and practices Experience in developing innovative design solutions Well-developed project management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills NSW Class C driver licence SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS: Temporary position for a period of 2 years, 70 hours per fortnight This position is Grade 4; salary range is $72,841 p.a. with progression to $80,399 p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $85,322 p.a, plus 11% Super Flexible working hours are available.
