About the role: We currently have an exciting opportunity for a full time Electrician to join our Maintenance team. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, key responsibilities include undertaking maintenance, repairs and modification of electrical equipment. K ey responsibilities include: Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of system. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown. Maintain and repair switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors as well as electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
