The Role We are seeking a Cafe and Kitchen Attendant for Sheldon College, which boasts an exceptional standard of in-house catering at our on-site café, Café 97. Our café serves not only our staff, students, and parents but also caters for internal and external events hosted in our large-scale Events Centre. The Cafe and Kitchen attendant will collaborate closely with the Catering Supervisor and Sous Chef, operating under the direction of the Catering Manager. Together, they will ensure the provision of high-quality customer service and efficient, delicious food and coffee offerings for staff, students, and events, thereby contributing to the smooth operation of the kitchen. Casual, approx. 10-15 hours per week over Mon-Fri. Additional event work available. About you You are passionate about providing customer service that is very friendly and efficient and reflects the values and culture of the College. You ensure that high standards of service and a clean, safe and tidy working environment are maintained at all times. You have great communication skills to communicate effectively with the children, staff, parents and colleagues alike with a commitment to ensuring high level, efficient customer service. Experience with Cash handling and POS experience in a fast paced environment; Excellent Barista skills; Knowledge or certification in Food Safety; An ability to work varied hours in order to meet College demands, including flexibility for events if required; Demonstrated high level of communication and customer service skills providing excellence in service; Polished, high standard of personal presentation in line with the College standards; A self-motivated and proactive, solution focused approach; High professional and ethical standards; Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders; Excellent organisation, attention to detail and time management skills; Ability to manage and prioritise a diverse workload and meet deadlines; Capability to work autonomously as well as contribute to harmonious working relationships within the team; Ability to obtain a Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check) About Us Sheldon College is an independent, co-educational, non-denominational College situated in Redland City, catering for students from 15 months of age through to Year 12.
