: GRADE 2 SOCIAL WORKER PERMANENT FULL TIME POSITION - 5 DAYS PER WEEK BASED IN SOCIAL WORK AT ST VINCENT'S FITZROY EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY FOR A DRUG AND ALCOHOL SOCIAL WORKER TO WORK IN A SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT- 0.6 EFT ADDICTION MEDICINE AND 0.4EFT ACUTE SETTING About the Role An opportunity currently exists for a Grade 2 Social Worker to join our team in this permanent position. This position works across both the inpatient wards and with the Addiction Medicine team to provide drug and alcohol counselling to St Vincent's patients experiencing issues with AOD. To fulfil this role, it is essential that you have a number of years of experience in working with people in the drug and alcohol space. The successful candidate will have highly developed skills in assessment, counselling, facilitation of groups and the provision of secondary consultation to other social workers in the Social Work Department around AOD. Previous experience in an inpatient hospital setting will be highly regarded. The successful candidate will contribute to positive outcomes for patients via the provision of high-quality social work service to patients using proficient clinical skills, effective communication and collaboration. Supervision of a Grade 1 social worker and/or social work student may be required. The successful candidate will be working in a supportive social work environment and receive regular supervision and professional development. Duties Use your skills to provide a comprehensive and compassionate service to SVHM patients experiencing AOD issues Liaise with patients, their families and/or carers to co-ordinate, facilitate and communicate patient treatment and outcomes Liaise with other social workers to support their work with patients who have substance misuse issues and support the development of their clinical knowledge and skills Actively participate in quality improvement and research activities Provide supervision and participate in clinical education programs as required Promote and develop positive relationships within the department, wider organisation and with community partners The classifications for this position range from SC21 - SC24 ($88,467 - $101,691 per annum) Your contribution Bachelor Degree or Qualifying Masters in Social Work Eligibility for registration for the AASW Current Victorian Driver's Licence Significant social work experience in a drug and alcohol setting is essential.
