Graduate Engineer — Wodonga, Wodonga Area

Excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and passionate Engineer who is customer-focused and possesses business acumen. Our client provides industry leading paving and civil construction services for residential, commercial and industrial projects throughout regional Victoria and New South Wales. The company is committed to the highest quality in stabilisation works, civil construction, spray sealing, asphalt supply and laying, haulage of quarry products and asphalt as well as residential and rural driveways. It is a family-owned business with experience working with Councils, state governments and large civil corporations, as well as smaller private customers. They are seeking a Graduate Engineer to join their fast growing team. Reporting to the Director, your duties and responsibilities will include: Analyse survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to inform the direction of projects as well as the overall budget constraints. Compute load and grade requirements, and material stress factors to determine design specifications. Forecast design and construction time frames. Conduct feasibility assessments and site inspections to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications, projects meet relevant codes and are progressing properly. Direct or participate in surveying to lay out installations and establish reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction. Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labour to determine project feasibility. Prepare and present documentation, such as bid proposals, reports and environmental impact statements. Prepare and coordinate tender submissions, risk management and requests for quotes from suppliers. Assist in the identification of efficient methodologies from tender through to execution of contract works. Project management duties (e.g. prepare project plans, provide estimates, manage budgets, scheduling and resourcing of projects, and deadlines; acquire and compile quotes, etc.). Endure projects comply with legislation, codes of practices and company policies. Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modifications and pavement. Conduct studies of traffic patterns or environmental conditions to identify engineering problems and assess the potential impact of projects. Ensure project feasibility through continual evaluation of structural integrity and design practicality. Communicate with team members as well as customers and vendors to ensure maximum cohesion and fluidity on projects. Monitor and optimise safety procedures, production processes, and regulatory compliance. To be successful in the role you have: Working rights in Australia (mandatory requirement) Strong skills in Microsoft Office products. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with design software, such as Autodesk, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and MicroStation. Knowledge of map creation software and photo imaging software. Strong business knowledge of Building/Construction sector. Civil engineering experience is preferred. Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders including councils and external business advisors. Stakeholder management and engagement skills. Excellent time management skills to ensure project deadlines are met. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and design. Driver’s licence (mandatory). WHS General Induction Training (white card) is ideal or ability to obtain prior to commencement. Demonstrated Knowledge of Work Health and Safety Practices.
