Senior Support Engineer - National Operations Centre — Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane

This role is suited to anyone with an appropriate Tertiary qualification (BEng, BSc, Dip) or Trade qualification (Cert III, Cert IV) or verifiable industry experience to join our National Operations Centre (NOC) in an exciting, fast paced, and critical team role. The role will be a Monday - Friday position with the potential shift work to help support the 24/7 team in Perth. You will join this growing team to deliver great outcomes to our clients and provide peace of mind with 24/7 rapid response support for critical industrial automation and control technology. You will be the first point of contact for technical issues for internal and external support. This is a permanent full-time role for anyone who is or wishes to become a multi-platform specialist and has a passion for all things automation. You will be trained formally, and on the job, in programming and troubleshooting using online PLC and SCADA tools across all the major platforms including Rockwell, Siemens, GE Fanuc, Schneider, Omron, Mitsubishi and more. You will also have access to Australians best Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation training warehouse to improve your skills. Key responsibilities Undertaking remote support calls to diagnose and resolve issues with PLC, HMI and SCADA systems, equipment and software. Provide technical support for our Technicians and Engineers nationally. Solve problems and provide solutions for highly complex technical problems. Engineering for Small to Medium Project on multiple Automation Platforms. Identifying and mitigating technical risk including Cyber security Managing and tracking tasks to complete projects within budget and time constraint Planning and managing the quality of technical deliverables. Desired but not Essential Capabilities and Experience Proven experience within the automation industry. Experience working in IT software, electrical/automation or process/manufacturing-based environments is preferred. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and understanding of electrical principals. Some experience across Automation Software Platforms including Rockwell, SIEMENS, GE Schneider, Omron, Mitsubishi etc. Some experience and knowledge of Networking and communications protocols such as Serial, Ethernet, Rockwell Networks, Siemens, Modbus Networks etc. Some experience with Remote connection protocols such as Windows remote desktop, TeamViewer, VPN and other methods of remotely connecting to systems. Some knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Server Environments as well as Linux Operating Systems A strong commitment to safety and a safe working environment Dedicated to customer satisfaction Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and without supervision High level of communication skills and the proven ability to learn fast. Excellent technical report writing skills. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
