As a Grid Connection Engineer you will play a pivotal role in the company's mission to connect renewable energy projects to the grid. Responsibilities include overseeing the technical aspects of grid connection projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and optimizing the integration of renewable energy sources into the grid infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to assess grid connection requirements for renewable energy projects. Conduct comprehensive site evaluations to determine the feasibility of grid connection and identify potential challenges. Develop detailed technical specifications and design plans for grid connection infrastructure, including substations, transmission lines, and interconnection facilities. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices throughout the grid connection process. Perform grid impact studies to analyse the effects of renewable energy integration on grid stability and reliability. Coordinate with grid operators to secure grid access agreements and negotiate terms for connection to the transmission or distribution network. Manage the procurement and installation of grid connection equipment, including transformers, switchgear, and protective relays. Oversee the testing and commissioning of grid connection systems to verify performance and safety standards. Provide technical support and guidance to project teams during construction, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards. Monitor grid performance and analyse data to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements. Develop contingency plans and mitigation strategies to address potential grid-related issues and minimize project risks. Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends in grid integration and renewable energy to inform decision-making and drive innovation. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in grid connection engineering or renewable energy development. Strong understanding of electrical power systems, grid infrastructure, and renewable energy technologies. Familiarity with relevant regulations, standards, and permitting processes for grid connection projects. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
