The team have the monumental task of ensuring that 40% of the Australian economy are able to transact over $90 billion a day using the Bank's services in a reliable manner. See yourself in our team As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Merchants Connex chapter. The team is led by the Engineering Manager who is accountable for the Connex switch for POS driving and transaction switching at CBA. The team works to deliver exceptional outcomes for our business stakeholders and customers. We're interested in hearing from people who have Strong knowledge of Connex and its System Architecture with expertise on Connex components like AP, TH, PI & SDX design and development. Expertise in TAL/pTAL, TACL, Guardian, SQL/MX & Enscribe database, Pathways and Cobol Expertise in scheme regulations and procedures for VISA/MasterCard/EFTPOS Experience in Master Card, VISA & FINSIM Simulators. Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline, JIRA, confluence & ServiceNow Tech Skills We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team; Perform design and development across a portfolio of payments projects, adhering to design principles that provide robust solutions Provide technical strategy and guidance, overseeing complex engineering initiatives. Drive the development of strategic programs of work, including proof of concept developments Lead and champion strategic practice development within team and platform Mentor and up-skill other engineering teams across different squads Perform peer code reviews in alignment to PCI requirements while also providing payments subject matter expertise across squads/crews Working with us Whether you're passionate about customer service, driven by data, or called by creativity, a career with CommBank is for you.
