The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for guiding and leading the testing and quality pactices across Qantas' applications and building out our test automation infrastructure. The role is for a hands-on, highly skilled quality engineer with the experience to both code with and mentor other technical team members to deliver high quality, well-designed software. You will share a large amount of responsibility for the quality of the software being built, including but not limited to; achieving desired business outcomes; meeting reliability and performance expectations; safely managing security and data privacy concerns. Responsibilities of the role include: Contributing to the continuous development of automation scripts, improving and contrinuting to the quality mindest with the team, exploring non functional testing like accessibility/performance/security, improving our testing tools and test approach, leadership, collaboration, implementation of secure code practice, and training. Will Bring: Strong knowlegd of Agile and Lean software development practices as well SDLC Extensive experience with version control tools like Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, CI/CD, code reviews etc Experience in embedding best practice in application testing within the team Experience researching and troubleshooting bugs and performance bottlenecks in a production environment A strong end to end technical understanding how applications within an enterprise environment run and operate Strong knowledge of Java and JavaScript programming languages Experience in working with Testing frameworks like Cypress Thorough knowledge and experience with, unit, Integration, System, End to End, UAT, PVT etc functional testing techniques Knowledge and experience of cloud platforms such as AWS - EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, Cloud watch etc Understanding of content management systems like Contentful and AEM Expertise in defining and execution of testing strategies and plan Knowledge of Dockers, Containers, Splunk, Swagger etc Enthusiasm for learning and driving adoption of the latest technology Excellent problem solver Great communication skills (written and verbal) that will enable successful collaboration Good understanding of security principles Good prioritization and time management skills Driven and motivated by team and company success Highly professional with high integrity Attention to detail and a willingness to take ownership of issues and deliverables Flexible and able to take on a variety of roles including leadership Good to have: Knowledge and experience with AEM Knowledge and experience in Cross browser testing tools Expertise in pair programming with functional testers or QA Analyst on automation testing Excellent skills in workshop facilitation, presentation, consultation and negotiation Why Qantas?
