Primary Art and Drama Teacher (K-Y6) Fixed Term / Part-time — Innaloo, Stirling Area

The International School of Western Australia (ISWA) is an IB World School offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP). As the Primary K-6 Art and Drama Teacher at ISWA, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the artistic and dramatic development of our students from Kindergarten to Grade 6, Specifically, Kindergarten to Year 2 Art, and Year 3 to 6 Drama. Through a transdisciplinary approach to teaching and learning, you will integrate both disciplines into the IB PYP framework, fostering creativity, expression, and social-emotional growth. The position requires a fully qualified Art and Drama Specialist Teacher for a one year, fixed-term, part-time contract (0.648 FTE) commencing at the star of our next academic year 24/07/2024 - 12/06/2025. We are looking for a staff member who possess: • A record of innovative practice • An ability to inspire mixed culture and ability classes, by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students • A strong desire and proven ability to work in teams in and out of the classroom • An outstanding record in building relationships and community with students, parents, and staff • Experience in delivering a concept-based curriculum through inquiry learning. • An intentional ability to balance academic and social-emotional development and wellbeing • Value diversity and belonging and seek to create a classroom environment where all students feel included • Curious, open-minded, and willing to change their own thinking and practice Experience working in international schools and/or delivering the International Baccalaureate’s, Primary Years Programme (PYP) would be highly desirable, but not essential.
