About the Role As an Aged Care Support Worker, you will be supporting the individual needs of elderly Australians who access our Community Care Services across the Brisbane North region, providing personalised support within their homes. We have a permanent part time opportunity available with flexible working hours to suit your lifestyle, hours can be based between school hours if required. Key Responsibilities Domestic assistance including washing clothing and hanging out to dry, folding and ironing of clothes, changing of bed linen as required, and other light cleaning duties Provide support with community access to activities including medical appointments, shopping and social activities Provide assistance with personal care including showering, bathing, toileting, and grooming as identified in their Care Plan Building positive relationships with the people we support and their families Skills & Experience Passionate about making a positive impact in our ageing community Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or similar) is required An Australian Driver’s Licence and ownership of a registered vehicle Willingness to travel between clients homes and reside within Chermside, Brendale, Bowen Hills and surrounding suburbs. Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment) Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role). To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
