Senior IT Systems Administrator Full time - Permanent 80 hours per fortnight including a monthly ADO $93,000 - $100,000 p.a plus Super Ballarat or Horsham Participation in IT On-Call roster About the role As part of the Digital Health Infrastructure team, the Senior Systems IT Administrator has responsibility for administering and maintaining application, database, web, file and print servers as well as general operation of business and health applications across all Grampians Health sites. Reporting to the Systems Administration Team Leader you will provide excellent customer service and support the Junior IT System Administrator and Field Services Engineers. You will be responsible of managing server-based operating systems, database management systems and application/web servers along with general operation of business and health applications across the Grampians Health Service. Key Responsibilities Troubleshooting and fault rectification for server-based operating systems, database management systems, and application/web servers. Performing regular maintenance activities on server hardware, server operating systems, application servers, database management systems, file storage, print servers, backup, and back-office applications. Working as part of the service team to provide remote and face to face service Systems Software Administration & Production Services (Regional Campuses) Monitoring the performance and availability of servers and core applications running on those servers. Development of scripted/automation solutions for systems and data management tasks. Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions Skills & Experience Essential 3 -5 years of experience in delivering IT services in medium to large organisations. Tertiary degree in information technology, computer science or computer systems engineering discipline, or relevant Industry experience and / or Certifications such as MCSA/MCSE, VCP, etc Demonstrated ability to work effectively autonomously with minimal supervision as well as part of a team Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills to enable effective identification and resolution of IT related issues. Desirable Experience in 5 or more of the following areas: Microsoft Windows server environments. Active Directory. Microsoft Exchange. Microsoft SQL. Microsoft 365 and other core Microsoft infrastructure services. VMware enterprise solutions. Virtual app/desktop and thin client solutions (such as Citrix or VMware). Network infrastructure and load balancing technology. Hybrid cloud solutions and technologies.
