As a Teacher - ECE, you will ideally have the capacity to work independently and innovatively to provide a learning environment that is caring, engaging, and differentiated to cater for a range of learning needs, including the specific needs of students who are learning English as an Additional Language. Ideally, the applicant will have strong classroom management and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) skills to successfully engage students in their learning. Southwell PS aims to provide a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that caters for the academic, as well as the social, emotional and physical needs of our students. Our staff are passionate about student learning and work collaboratively across year levels to improve the educational outcomes of all students. We focus on providing a solid foundation in literacy and numeracy and offer a range of whole-school teaching programs, such as Talk for Writing and SoundsWrite, to ensure that all students have opportunities to shine and be successful. Our specialist teachers engage the students in Science, Music, Noongar language and Physical Education, using our purpose-built science and art rooms. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
