Our Opportunity As Senior Project Design Manager, you will be responsible for facilitating effective design delivery across all design disciplines to get the best outcomes for the project, and to maximise value and minimise risk. You will be required to work on multiple projects (including projects in other states) or from a project office and may be required to travel to achieve all relevant requirements of the role. Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to: To ensure the application of the PDM systems and processes is consistent and appropriate to the project requirements. Identify and implement innovation and continual improvements in systems, processes and project execution. Ensure critical controls and processes are deployed by the PDM teams, undertake key reviews and implement mitigation strategies where required. Review key project and commercial metrics, benchmarking is undertaken to ensure compliance with project requirements. Ensure project experiences are captured as learning for future projects. Ensure the full appraisal of design options and facilitate proactive identification of value-add design and innovation in collaboration with the full project team while maintaining the design intent and fostering an environment for design excellence. Drive effective, efficient and cohesive communication with the design team to achieve design outcomes and timely decision making. Ensure everyone understands the project's objectives and works towards their achievement as a priority. Demonstrate the advanced skills to write technical reports, briefs and prepare visual presentations. Undertake regular project reviews with the project team of design outputs, documentation, buildability, drawings and prototypes. Provide leadership in managing a consultant tendering process including, tender selection, due diligence, recommendations, manage an expression of interest (EoI) and Request for Proposal (RfP) process. Develop the design in accordance with the approved cost plans and budgets. Identify Value Optimisation (VO) during all phases of the project, in particular during the early design phases. Your point of difference You will have experience at senior management level in complex construction projects under various delivery models and varying client types. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate at a high level the awareness of risk, contractual and financial principles and practices and have a strong understanding of market analysis and strategies.
