About the role The Senior Legal Manager leads a team of Solicitors with a range of experience to deliver expert advice and advocacy to the TAC on claims related matters, building and maintaining effective relationships across the business, other relevant schemes, and the justice system. Your effort will be focused on facilitating timely and quality resolutions for TAC claims and providing effective and efficient legal services to the TAC’s Clients Division. This role is also the practice lead for Costs & Prosecutions, and success will see you driving strong management of litigated costs and ensuring the delivery of effective prosecution and enforcement actions. The successful incumbent will also have the unique opportunity to lead the TAC through transition to the new Scale of Costs in 2025. About the Team The Senior Legal Manager reports directly to the Senior Manager, Dispute Resolution & Litigation within the broader Clients Division. You will work collaboratively with three other Senior Legal Managers, a Dispute Resolution Manager, and two Team Managers of legal support teams, forming the DR&L Leadership team at the TAC. This high performing team thrives on being a cohesive group that enjoys working collaboratively in the office and from other locations as needed. What we’re looking for Strategic Thinking and Operational Focus Demonstrated experience in utilising operational and strategic thinking and implementing business improvement initiatives. Proven Leader A proven history of outcomes achieved through leadership of high performing teams, including mentoring and coaching team members. Demonstrated leadership in leading teams within a dynamic and agile environment within a professional legal services setting. Stakeholder Engagement Experience in negotiating at high levels across multiple internal and external stakeholder groups demonstrating superior communication skills. An ability to build trusted relationships across the business, externally, and across the justice system.
