Legal Counsel (24445) — Brisbane CBD, Brisbane

We have an opportunity available for a Legal Counsel, looking for the next step in their career to join our National Contract Services team. We are open to this role being based in Brisbane or Sydney and also open to consider candidates looking for part time (4 days). The Opportunity - About the Role Part of our National Contract Services team, and of the wider Group Legal team, reporting to and working closely with the Contract Services Legal Manager, you will be engaging with stakeholders, across Stockland's national residential Communities business, providing advice and guidance on all work associated with the Conveyancing process for Masterplan and Land Lease communities. You'll also be involved in working on matters of more complexity. This role can be based from our Brisbane or Sydney offices with the successful candidate having the flexibility to balance working from the office and home. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Support the management of Stockland's national suite of contract precedents for our residential Communities business, driving consistency and continuous improvement. Work as legal triage and troubleshooting contact for the national Contract Services team, resolving, or overseeing the resolution of escalated legal queries related to the sale of land and land lease in a compliant, timely, customer and commercially focused manner. Work with other Group Legal teams and/or engage external legal where required. Drive compliance with legislation, licensing requirements, industry updates and subscriptions related to conveyancing across all states. Promote best governance/review/audit of actual contracts and conveyancing processes. Help improve customer experience though the legal process, e.g., through user friendly, consistent, and fair contract communications and disclosure processes. Provide internal training and information updates for Conveyancing, Group Legal and the broader residential business. Special projects as prioritised with Contract Services Legal Manager. About You You will be looking for the next step in your career, with between 2 and 5 years PQE. You will have gained experience in property law, either in-house or at a reputable firm. Ideally you will have experience, preparing and advising in relation to residential property development and conveyancing. Experience with Land Lease Communities (Manufactured Homes) is highly desirable. Commercially focused and results driven, you're comfortable working with multiple stakeholders.
