Make a lasting impact while growing an incredible career • Receive a casual leave loading allowance • Get the flexibility and support you need to live a balanced life As a Casual Educator at Goodstart, you will be a team player, who is flexible and willing to support our centres and children when and where required. You put safety first with everything that you do and ensure all learning experiences are inclusive and respond to the needs of all children. You’ll achieve this by: • Actively contributing to the education program in the room and the centre team • always Engaging and supervising the children • Maintaining a safe environment for children, families and team members • Building and maintaining strong, positive relationships with children and families • Complying with National Quality Standards and Goodstart policies and procedures • Supporting a culture of reflective practice and ongoing continuous improvement About Goodstart Bateau Bay: Our centre is in the local Central Coast community of Bateau Bay, conveniently located on The Entrance Rd, not far from the local beaches and Wyrrabalong National Park. We educate and care for children between six weeks and six years old across three indoor learning spaces. At Goodstart Bateau Bay we believe children learn through play in an environment rich with choice. Our indoor and outdoor learning environments are designed with a focus on play based learning with a range of open-ended natural materials and play spaces available for children to explore, experiment and discover. Children have the choice to play indoors or outdoors across the day, extending their knowledge and allowing them to develop independence, respect and a sense of ownership for their environment. Our centre is a 62-place service. We have three rooms with the age configuration varying to meet the needs of new families. Currently ages in our rooms are as follows: • Our nursery learning space caters up to 12 children aged 6 weeks-2.5 years. • The pre-kindy learning space caters for up to 20 children aged 2-3.5 years. • The preschool learning space caters for up to 30 children aged 3.5-6 years. Our outdoor areas are characterised by lush natural elements of sandstone rocks, boulders, sitting stones, tree stumps, timber board walks and large overgrown clumping bamboo that creates small cubby like areas for children to create a world of wonder. Educators recognise the value of risk taking for young children and have collaborated to introduce elements that allow children to explore risk in a safe and supported manner and become aware of their own safety and boundaries.
