About the role Based at Gibson Island and reporting to the Senior Process Engineer, you will ensure paper production quality meets customer expectations through adherence to quality specifications and alignment with the mill quality plan. You will regularly liaise with the engineering teams and maintenance personnel to maintain system functionality. Duties Monitor and maintain the mill chemical systems to ensure production and quality targets are achieved. Manage and communicate budget and quality reporting. Provide technical support and troubleshoot complex problems. Partner with suppliers to support the achievement of quality and production targets Improve the mill chemical systems by proposing, costing, and implementing process improvement projects Develop and implement actions to resolve non-conformance with the quality standards What you will bring to the team Bachelor degree in either Science or Chemistry Prior experience in manufacturing or chemical systems operations and/or management is preferred Tech savvy, Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications - (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) You are proactive and a confident communicator, with a high sense of urgency You are willing and able to work under physically challenging conditions You have a safety-first mindset and always comply with OHS&E policies and procedures Strong ability to build relationships with external and internal stakeholders Must have full working rights for Australia When you join Visy, you’re joining a global leader dedicated to making serious progress in the sustainable packaging, recycling, re-manufacturing and logistics industries.
