Site Engineering Manager — Liverpool, Liverpool Area

The Company Our client is a global leader in their category of the food manufacturing industry, supplying their products through multiple sales channels and a clear global leader through a number of these. They continue to put significant capital investment into the site for both NPD, growth and continuous improvement, with the aim of continuously operating at their best. They are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead this function across one of their key manufacturing sites and work to implement best in class practices through effective leadership, capability building and implementation of reliability systems and processes. The Role Reporting to the General Manager of Operations you will be responsible for: Strategic and tactical responsibility for implementing engineering strategy with strong focus on quality, cost and delivery, maximizing efficiency, optimising and driving engineering excellence. Responsible for maintenance and improvement of production lines, managing contractors and ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to. Full budgetary responsibility for the department for both R&M and Capital spend. Implement and manage continuous improvement principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes Through your two Maintenance Managers lead, coach and co-ordinate the activities of the maintenance team to drive a preventative maintenance culture to provide excellent levels of machine availability and supply of utilities. Your Background To be successful in this role you will have the following experience, traits and qualifications: Ideally degree qualified in an engineering discipline or the relevant Trade qualifications. Experience within manufacturing, ideally food, beverages, pharmaceutical or packaging. Excellent troubleshooting experience with the ability to understand, assess and work through and resolve maintenance issues. Proven experience in hands on Engineering leadership role with both R&M and capital responsibility. Experienced in maintenance planning with the ability to work with and understand CMMS systems. Strong communication, coaching, consultation and negotiation skills with an ability to engage and influence internal stakeholders including senior and line management and permanent and casual employees.
