About the Role: As Project Lead/Registered Design Architect in a small firm, you will be leading in small to large-scale institutional, laboratory, and commercial projects. You will be responsible for business development, client relationships and management, project management including management of consultants and contractors, to ensure projects are delivered seamlessly and our clients receive quality professional service. You will lead, manage, and drive design and documentation across various projects while mentoring junior team members. Your strong understanding of the NCC and Australian Standards, experience delivering projects, and Revit expertise will allow you to make proactive decisions with minimal assistance. You will need to demonstrate numerous examples as a Project Leader of educational, laboratory, or institutional projects. You will have our ongoing support, training, and resourcing to lead projects effectively and sustainably. Architectural Registration (or on the pathway to complete APE in the next 12 months) 7 years of local (NSW) architectural professional experience, ideally in the education, laboratory, or health sectors 5 years local (New South Wales) project leadership experience 5 years REVIT documentation experience Ability to manage multiple projects and inspire design excellence across all projects. Numerous completed projects demonstrating experience as project leader/architect of medium-scale projects Demonstrated understanding of the BCA and Australian Standards Demonstrated Construction documentation and administration of a Commercial, Educational, Laboratory or complex project Strong collaboration skills Completion of Masters of Architecture in Australia Responsibilities Build relationships and confidence with key clients and stakeholders Manage a range of projects from concept through to completion Meet with clients, determine and accurately record their requirements Complete on-site measurements including Matterport lidar scanning Develop concept drawings, REVIT modelling, and return briefs Coordinate with and lead engineers and services consultants Lead project meetings and site meetings/inspections, and record accurate meeting minutes Develop and manage excellent documentation across all disciplines that complies with applicable codes, regulations and legislation Prepare CC, Tender, and Construction Documentation using REVIT Contract administration and construction assistance. Key Skills Required Professional capacity as a Level 2a Experienced Graduate of Architecture, or Level 3 Registered Architect Architectural Registration (or fully qualified and progressing towards becoming registered) Confidence across the 60 National Standard of Competencies for Architects Briefing, feasibility, masterplanning, and design conceptualisation Expertise coordinating sub-consultants to align with brief and statutory requirements Excellent Architectural documentation and construction detailing for Construction Proficient in managing authority approvals, tender processes, and contract administration Excellent English verbal and written communication Team player with a proactive and enthusiastic attitude Open to learn and apply new knowledge Ability to strategise and manage workload and deadlines Program and coordination management Customer-service focus and EQ REVIT BIM 360 proficiency essential MS Office suite proficiency essential Adobe Suite proficiency ideal Candidates must Submit a tailored cover letter to MCA Architects outlining your suitability for our practice.
