You'll implement the Best Practice Review of Workplace Health and Safety Queensland and ensure we meet the expectations of compliance and enforcement that the community expects of us as a regulator. About the team: Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) enforces work health and safety laws, investigates workplace fatalities, serious injuries, prosecutes breaches of legislation and educates employees and employers on their legal obligations. We're responsible for improving work health and safety in Queensland and helping to reduce the risk of workers being killed or injured on the job. We do this by making sure work health and safety laws are followed, investigating work-related fatalities and serious injuries, educating workplaces on ways to comply with legislation, taking legal action when work health and safety laws are broken and educating employees and employers on their legal obligations. Your key responsibilities: Specific responsibilities are outlined in the position description for this role but generally, you'll have strong written, time management and stakeholder engagement and management skills. Experience in applying workplace health and safety protocols in community enforcement or other such regulatory enforcement would be highly regarded. This role will challenge and develop your ability to engage with stakeholders, partner and educate the community in safety matters and ensure compliance within a regulatory framework. You'll be part of the solution to keep Queenslander's safe at work and see the direct impact of your role in the community.
