Wayfinding Design Lead — The Rocks, Sydney

Wayfinding Design Lead x 3 required for NSW State Government Transport Agency - 6 month contracts with an extension Our client is the leading transport agency in New South Wales and they are currently seeking a number of Wayfinding Design Leads for initial 6 month contract, with the possibility to extend. These roles are hybrid working between home and the office in the city - paying $900-$1100 per day super per day. The role will develop, coordinate and document detailed design and implementation plans for the application of wayfinding signage and customer information in the built environment, for assigned projects and transport locations. The role will also assist in the development of wayfinding guidance documents, site issues analysis and development of wayfinding solutions. Key accountabilities Complete wayfinding site surveys and audits, complete wayfinding flow plans, undertake issues analysis and identify site interfaces in accordance with established TfNSW principles. Successfully apply TfNSW wayfinding rules and standards to diverse projects and needs. Prepare design documentation packages including detailed sign requests, message schedules, location plans, sign setouts, interface schedules, removals schedules and other necessary documentation. Manage external design contractors to complete design and documentation packages, ensuring compliance with TfNSW requirements and quality levels. Consult with operational personnel, delivery teams and agencies, and project stakeholders to ensure that planned wayfinding meets operational and customer needs. Present wayfinding plans to stakeholder groups, and represent the Wayfinding Program at site visits, in meetings and in consultation forums. Gain necessary approvals for all plans and documents. Provide assistance during implementation phases, to ensure that signs are installed per plans, and to assist in the resolution of issues and problems that may arise, including conducting site inspections and preparation of defects reports following sign installations. Manage multiple work packages concurrently, ensuring that deadlines are managed and met. Essential requirements Tertiary qualifications in information design, industrial design, graphic design, interior design, exhibitions design, urban design or another related discipline, or equivalent experience.
