Warehouse & Transport Manager — Waitara, Hornsby Area

We are on the hunt for an experienced Warehouse and Transport Manager to join our close-knit Airfreight team based in Alexandria. What you will be responsible for? Lead the warehouse operations team in the day-to-day operations of the facility ensuring that customer service levels are met on a consistent basis Manage the facility to ensure that the site, and all equipment, is fully maintained Manage and motivate a team of hardworking warehouse staff to achieve high levels of productivity Ensure that import and export cargo is delivered within key timeframes Manage the facility to ensure that the site, and all equipment, is fully maintained and workable, with a contingency plan in place for any breakdowns Oversee the training of team members on all aspects of client requirements and standard operating procedures Report on the profitability of the warehouse taking into account warehouse space utilised, volumes and labour requirements Ensure the highest levels of health and safety are maintained at all times What Are We Looking For? 4 years experience in a warehouse management role, ideally in a Freight Forwarding or 3PL environment Previous experience in managing a medium-sized warehouse team, including rostering and leave management Strong business acumen and understanding of client management and profitability; with experience managing productivity and presenting out on results Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and the proven ability to build relationships with key stakeholders Working knowledge of relevant legislation, including previous experience managing in a unionised environment An analytical mindset and experience in root cause analysis in order to make continuous improvements to the operation A safety-focused mindset, always making sure that work, health and safety is the top priority Why Work with Us?
