About the Role The Learning and Teaching Team is comprised of the Senior School Principal, Head of Department - Learning and Teaching, and four Learning and Teaching Pedagogy coaches. A key area of focus is the embedding of a consistent language for our learning and teaching practices - continually developing and refining consistency of practice in classroom pedagogy. The ideal candidate will have a contemporary leadership style, focussed on collegial engagement, collaboration and innovation in order to foster and drive continuous pedagogy improvement throughout our school. As the Head of Department - Learning and Teaching you will: Lead our community of forward thinkers by promoting a culture of continuous improvement and growth that is aligned to our school vision and values. Have a strong understanding of evidence-based teaching practices and have knowledge, understanding and experience to lead the implementation of the school's pedagogical framework. Lead professional development and opportunities for self-reflection to teaching staff. Promote a strong collegial culture of mutual trust and high expectations whereby staff feel supported to share effective teaching and learning practices. Foster a culture of creativity and critical reflection with open and dynamic conversations occurring within and across the school's leadership team and within faculties Responsibilities for the Head of Department - Learning and Teaching include, but are not limited to; Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students. Embed socially just practices in daily school life. Set high standards for student and staff performance. Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
